After I finished assembling this piece I searched for “fun facts about hummingbirds” and read some really cool things about them. Three of my favorite findings are that:
1) hummingbirds are the only bird that can fly backwards and can rotate their wings 180 degrees!
2) the Bee Hummingbird is the lightest bird in the world and native to Cuba (just like our sweet Havanese ❤︎)—it can weigh less than a dime!
3) Ecuador is home to the Blue-throated Hillstar found in the southwest region where an estimated less than 1,000 of these species live.
They’re just so pretty, aren’t they?
